Explaining the concept of baseball as cricket plated with a log can help connect the readers with the game and increase their interest in the information presented in the essay. 
  • Humour: Perfectly timed humour is essential in breaking the silence in different types of conversation. The use of good-quality humour in the essay can be beneficial in reducing the readers' resistance to connecting to the ideas presented in the essay. However, on the other hand, using destructive or harmful humour can make the readers offended and turn out from the information in the essay.  
  • Declaration hook: Using a declaration hook helps make a strong statement regarding the topic used in the essay.  These claims are generally connected to the essay's thesis statement and show the essay's importance on the given topic.  A strong statement is very applicable as it does not consider the topic's views.
